Glock 45 Subcompact - With the GLOCK 36, the Austrian firearms manufacturer offers another subcompact pistol in addition to the GLOCK 30 S. What are the differences and what do they have in common? We put the smaller GLOCK 36 in the larger .45 ACP caliber.
The Glock G36 comes with two six-round magazines, a loading aid, a cleaning rod, and a plastic Glock case.

The G30 S uses a double-stack magazine that holds nine rounds, while the GLOCK 36 uses a single-stack magazine that holds six rounds. This is mainly due to the fairly thin frame, because the width of the gun plays an important role in the sub-compact gun class. So the GLOCK 36 frame width is 28mm, while the GLOCK 30S is much wider at 32.5mm.
Compact Glocks: The Most Popular Ones On The Market Today
Where features and design are concerned, the pistol definitely takes cues from the GLOCK series. Unlike other handguns from the Austrian maker (except the Glock 25 and 28, which have a blackback system), the GLOCK 36 is also an assault-fired polymer pistol with an improved Browning brake locking system.
The G36 also uses a semi-pre-tensioned safe-action trigger with an always-on trigger. In terms of model design, the GLOCK 36 is closely related to the Gen3 models, although it is now equipped with a double-action spring chamber. The replaceable backstrap, however, is something shooters won't find on the GLOCK 36.

As far as trigger-grip design is concerned, the GLOCK is excellent for a subcompact. The middle finger and ring finger fit into the joints of the two fingers. For a medium-sized hand, the space in front of the end of the magazine is enough to hold even small fingers well.

The handle texture, however, does not follow the Gen4 models and feels much smoother. It can definitely be a little rough (-2 points).
In the review category Cycling/Safety, we could not find anything wrong (-0 points). Devices work safely and are always error free. The controls are in the usual place for a GLOCK and here the points are deducted for the disassembler, which was not easy to pull (-1 point) and the really stiff slide open lever (-1 point).
While the partial pre-tension on the gun breaks the trigger at a lower rate than a small gun, pick-up scratches and realistic tracking are ineffective (-3 points).
The slide on the GLOCK 36 is muzzle tender. This saves materials and greatly reduces the size of the device
Glock's Model 30 Is The Perfect Combination Of Firepower And Concealability
We had no complaints with the view (-0 points). The white outlined wind surface adjustable rear sight with white dot is a perfect match for the pyramid front sight. The execution on the gun tested was almost flawless. There are no machining marks on the polymer frame or on the brake block or internal components.
The surface finish on the slide is also done very carefully and the tolerances for a polymer gun are very low - there is only minimal play between the frame and the slide. For this, full marks (-0 marks) are awarded in this category.
In accuracy testing, the Svelte GLOCK achieved an excellent pattern diameter of 58 mm. This gave it 44 points (-6 points) in this evaluation category - a respectable result, given that the device is a sub-compact pistol with a relatively short barrel. The GLOCK can compete fairly well with five-inch pistols.
The GLOCK 36 continues to exhibit all the GLOCK qualities. From both technical and design point of view, it clearly follows the footsteps of the model family. The performance is exemplary and the accuracy is the highest in the subcompact category.

Points deducted mainly for the control element and slightly worn frame markings. For sport shooters, the smaller GLOCK 36 may not be a common choice. But for self-defense, it combines the characteristics of a light-handled pistol and a powerful caliber.

The single-stack Glock chambered in 45 ACP, introduced in 1999—the G36—doesn't attract attention. It is an ideal choice for self-defense, which all performance fans expect from the company, but somehow, it avoids the headlines. A pistol designed for stealthy carry is a valuable and rare skill, but its relative silence has been deafening in the two decades since its introduction.
Magazine capacity is six cartridges, and that single-stack design makes the G36 slim, a feature that minimizes printing when concealed. It has an overall width of 1.18" by 3.78" barrel, weighs 22.4 oz. Comes with an empty magazine and an overall length of 6.97".

The semi-automatic features the company's familiar safe action plan and, as expected, sports a business-like black finish. The frame is polymer and the steel slide is finished in black tenifer. In 2013, Glock added an additional rail.
. "At the range, the G36 exhibits a level of control that exceeds expectations for a light gun," he explains. . The narrow single-stack case feels comfortable in small hands like mine and the sleek 5.5-pounds. Controlling the factory trigger is easy. "
The pair of fingers on the front of the pistol grip and the text on the back ensure a firm grip on the pistol, even in rough weather. Current prices for the new model, when you can get them, are running $650 and up, depending on configuration.
FFL shells are not as hot as the factory G36, so their popularity with knowledgeable gun enthusiasts is evident. In fact, even though the gun has flown under the radar for more than two decades, it's hard to find in stock.
