Revolvers are my go-to gun when it comes to power and accuracy. No matter what the haters say, these guns are invisible. In addition to their popularity in movies, revolvers make reliable self-defense tools. In addition, they perform very well in the field. Today we're featuring one of my personal favorites, the Chiappa Rhino 60DS.

After 7 years of military service, I started collecting different types of revolvers. From the Smith & Wesson 19 to the Rager Blackhawk, I've shot and owned them all. But this time we will talk about one of the Chippa Firearms revolvers. Some of you may cringe at the thought of high gun prices, and understandably so. Despite the high price, many say that the performance of the revolver is excellent. I still have one of their Rhino 50DS revolvers that I bought 2 years ago. From personal experience, I can say that the Rhino 50DS has strong firepower.

In today's article we will focus on the Chippa Rhino 60DS review. Looking at Chippa's website, many users who own this gun have left positive comments about it. So, we will check whether this revolver lives up to everyone's expectations. But first, let's look at its pros and cons. Then, we will discuss the brand and the revolver in the next review.
The Chiappa Rhino 60Ds is a revolver that uses .357 Magnum as its primary caliber. Known for its eccentric design, it sits alongside Chippa Firearms' Rhino revolver. The top edge of its barrel resembles the nose horn of a rhinoceros, hence the name. I have a Rhino 50DS and love to shoot it, I have a lot to say about it's little brother gun. Is the Rhino 60DS the same as its predecessor?

Chippa Firearms is an Italian firearms company based in Brescia, Italy. It recently entered the gun scene in 1958 with its first brand name, Army Sport. Despite the influence of the revolver, its other products are divisive among gun enthusiasts. Some say the company's guns are good, others tell you they are bad. It should be noted again that the revolver is the pride and specialty of Chippa Firearms. Although there are some negative reviews, they are buried in the positive reviews.

In summary, Chippa Firearms is a good and bad gun brand. Despite its reputation, many consumers still buy aftermarket firearms. It doesn't offer cheap firearms, but it makes up for the quality of the gun's performance. Additionally, his Winchester rifle and other rifles have attracted the interest of many gun enthusiasts. Although he has a valuable inventory, many people are hesitant to trust his revolver.
With the overall design, it is clear who this gun belongs to. Considering its overall design, I'd say it's ideal for both competition and self-defense. Thus, marksmen can benefit more from using this gun. With its sleek appearance, it's well-suited for blazing power but low rebound range. But all this is not compatible with hunters and small-handed users of this rifle. For hunters, they are better than rifles for target shooting at long distances. Meanwhile, users with smaller hands may struggle to pull its massive trigger.
The Rhino 60DS is a 6-inch barrel revolver with a simple center-lock grip. It has a 357 magnum chamber and 38 special rounds. Additionally, you can burn it in single or dual mode. For the rest, we will deal with this review later. For now, here are the Rhino 60DS’ official specs provided by the manufacturer:
Despite the high price, Chippa Firearms explains well when it comes to its packaging. When I received my order, my Rhino 60DS arrived in a solid black case with a simple grip on top. Chiappa Firearmsâ trademark logo covers one side of the case. The black color and the company logo give the job a straightforward look.

Upon opening the case, thick black foam surrounds the entire interior. This protects the gun and other accessories from damage like an umbrella. At first glance, you'll notice the Rhino 60DS and the trigger lock. When you pick up the bulk, you'll also get a gun guide, a cleaning brush, and three moon clips. All of these will be placed in clear plastic for added security.
The Rhino 60DS is an improved version of its predecessor, the Rhino 50DS. Compared to the Rhino 50DS, this reel has a 6-inch barrel and weighs 2.06 pounds. Although slightly heavier, the Rhino 60DS is still light and easy to hold. Additionally, there are several color options to choose from when purchasing this gun. For example, you can get it in black or gold shade. To add, you can also find a multi-colored version of this gun. Also, the rail sits above and below the barrel of the gun. It allows you to customize with optical sights, lasers and flashlights.
Apart from the unusual design of the pepper, the Rhino 60DS also comes with a medium walnut grip. Despite its good looks, said grip is a bit awkward. For example, holding it in a shooting position makes it look like you're pointing it slightly above the target. To solve this problem, you can change the grip of the gun or change the grip completely. Additionally, its cylinder can hold up to six bullets. Also, you can set the hammer to single or double action mode when firing.
First, I want to point out how easy and clean the trigger of the gun is to pull. Unlike other revolvers, this wheel trigger is larger. It's not too much of a struggle to press and leaves enough room for your finger to move around. Additionally, a small red indicator next to the hammer lets you know if you have cocked the weapon. If the indicator rises, it is cocked. However, if the indicator is low, it means the opposite.

Also, opening the cylinder is easy and does not cause many problems while doing so. Inserting the tablets is also an easy task as they are not hard or sticky to insert or remove. But after a quick shot with this baddie, you can see the damage here. Since the fire comes from the lower cylinder instead of the upper one, the waste of the gun escapes. So, shooting this for long periods of time will leave your hands covered in gun residue. I tried to shoot this at my range and found my fingers stained with a black substance. Not healthy and fun if you ask.
However, I like how straightforward the Rhino 60DS is when shooting. Additionally, its forward and rear sights give you a more precise aim at your target. Also, adding accessories like lasers can help unlock its full potential. You can also drop in Speedloader for faster downloads.
As I said before, the Rhino 60DS looks great and is easy to operate. For larger shooters, you can hold it with one or both hands. Also, this tool can be used for both left and right handed users. Since I am an avid shooter, I like to shoot this gun left or right handed.
While the gun grip is a nice feature for many, some may find it inconvenient. It's definitely a struggle, especially with smaller-handed shooters. With its large trigger, you may have a hard time shooting this gun alone. But if you persist, pulling the trigger will require a lot of practice and patience.

Although it looks tough and heavy, don't let the looks of this revolver fool you. The total weight of the Rhino 60DS is 2.06 pounds. So, your hands and arms won't hurt after carrying this gun for a while.
Like most popular revolvers today, the Rhino 60DS uses 357 Magnum cartridges as its primary weapon. Unlike the Chiappa Firearms specs, it can also accept 38 custom rounds. We all know from experience that the .357 Magnum caliber is powerful enough to paralyze a target. Because of this, you may think you're going to pick up this gun for fear of getting shot a second time. But the good news is that it doesn't happen at all. We will explain this further as we proceed in the next chapters.
I think one of the best things about the Rhino 60DS is its design. With its low end, it balances it on your hand and arm while shooting. As such, it allows you to aim a bullet from 50 yards away. Additionally, the front and back sights help you see the eye properly.
